ScienceLearners of grade 3 started this month's learning journey by exploring facts about air and weather. They were equipped with the concept of AIQ, and how it is different at different places( Intergartion with SST). Moreover, the acknowledgement of have better AIQ with more trees specially at hill stations was discussed. Learners revised water cycle- with the help of Story Animation: Drippy the Raindrop (Integration with English) and joined dots with the concepts of evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection. They drew the line of difference between weather and climate while moving towards the concepts of Solid, Liquid and Gases. Observing the changes around, learners drew conclusion, as to how change in temperature may allow water to exists in all three states of matter. foundation of Conceptual knowledge of terms- solidification, freezing, melting, condensation, evaporation were laid. hereafter learners moved towards the chapter- house and clothing. What are the various features in a good house and how to keep your space clean was core of the discussion. They participated in open discussion around the recruitment of fabrics through various animal and plant sources. The requirement of man made fibre and the variety of traits it has was put through light and brainstorming was done. This month was a quality time to quench thirst of knowledge for children.
MathThe students continued to understand the importance of multiplication in real life situations during the month of November by solving mathematical word problems using RUCSAC method. They were then introduced to another mathematical operation- Division. An interesting introductory activity helped the children to do a recap of key terms related to division. The concept of remainder was understood by them with the help of pencil colours and other real-life objects. The children continued their learning further by understanding rules of division. Dividing a 2/3-digit dividend with 1 digit divisor using long division method was a new concept for them in Grade III in which the children sailed seamlessly.

Understanding how one adapts to their surroundings and as friends how you are there for each other was the learning when students of Grades III – V watched the Disney movie ‘Lyle Lyle Crocodile’. SuperHero movies never go out of style. Students of Grades VI to X watched the DC movie ‘Black Adams’ with their friends. They also promote engagement levels, build confidence, teamwork and create connections.Students of Grade three went on a trip to Rocksport Adventure camp . The trip was a great success seeing the student’s participation in the adventure activities with great zeal and enthusiasm. The program provided exposure to multiple elements of adventure and outdoor activities in a safe and controlled environment. Such experiences are a step to develop their confidence, willpower, focus, and leadership. Students also were able to manage themselves in team and displayed great responsibility and teamwork.It was a great sight to see students and the mentors dancing, eating and doing the adventure activities together. Project Goal: How can the smoke produced by the earth ovens be reduced to avoid indoor air pollution affecting children and women? Project description: To design an earth oven which can help in reducing the direct contact of smoke with the person cooking food. Teary eyes and indoor air pollution affect hundreds of households in rural India. With the best use of low-cost material our beginners will put their understanding of materials and heat to the best use in building these smokeless ovens to provide them some respite. During the project, learners worked collaboratively in a team to achieve a common project goal based on the inquiry — Team work discipline, Heat transfer, conduction, convection, radiation, Hands on experience on designing and developing the model.
