ENGLISHThe suncitizens were enthused with the SPELL BEE competition and gave a scintillating performance until the final event. Their learning made progress with presenting and researching Fairy tales. They presented their lessons with props from the tale "The Princess and the Pea", and the character presentation was brilliantly done. They understood the concept and difference between prose and play-script. The students also grasped the power of presentation in their words with Paragraph Writing and Picture Composition using Adjectives, Verbs, Tenses and other grammatical concepts like punctuation. The progressive learning brought about more confidence and creativity in them.
HINDIछात्रों को दो समूहों में विभाजित करके मौखिक प्रश्नोंत्तरी के द्वारा ज्ञानवर्धन करते हुए ‘शेरु ने ढूँढी गेंद’ पाठ का पठन कराया गया। । ‘पर्यावरण तथा पेड़’ की महत्ता को समझाते हुए पाठ ‘धरती और हरियाली’ का पठन कार्य करवाया गया। गतिविधि- छात्रों ने पौधा लगाकर उसका ध्यान रखा और प्रकृति को साफ़ व स्वच्छ रखने की प्रेरणा प्राप्त की। छात्रों को चित्र एवं विडियो दिखाकर लिंग, वचन व विलोम की जानकारी दी गई व व्याकरण पुष्प से पठन कार्य करवाते हुए अभ्यास कार्य करवाया गया। छात्रों ने फ्लैश कार्ड पर विलोम की गतिविधि सुंदर तरीके से करते हुए ज्यादा से ज्यादा विलोम शब्दों की जानकारी प्राप्त की। पाठ ‘ मैं हवा हूँ’ का पठन करवाकर पुस्तकीय अभ्यास कार्य ,शब्दार्थ और प्रश्न-उत्तर कार्य करवाया गया । जीव विज्ञान के साथ एकीकृत करते हुए छात्रों ने हवा पर एक परियोजना बनाई जिसमें छात्रों ने प्रदूषित हवा एवं फ़ायदेमंद हवा, हवा का स्वास्थ्य पर क्या प्रभाव पड़ता है, आदि का सचित्र वर्णन किया । कला विज्ञान और‘सतत विकास के लक्ष्य -१४ जलीय जीवों की सुरक्षा’के साथ एकीकरण - छात्रों ने पेड़-पौधों के सूखे पत्तों से एक जलीय जीव का चित्र (ए-4 शीट) पर बनाकर तथा उस जानवर से संबंधित कुछ महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य लिखकर कक्षा में उत्साहपूर्वक अपने विचार सांझा किए। MS फॉर्म द्वारा मूल्यांकन परीक्षा संपन्न हुई। इस प्रकार छात्रों को व्याकरणिक ज्ञान की जानकारी प्राप्त हुई। उनके शब्दकोश एवं भाषिक योग्यता में भी वृद्धि हुई। छात्रों के साथ रक्षा बंधन तथा जन्माष्टमी के त्योहारों के महत्व पर भी चर्चा की गई | छात्रों ने त्योहारों से संबन्धित अपने प्यारे अनुभव कक्षा में सांझा किए | https://youtu.be/ONt-H-pmoy0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2JLZMA49zE https://youtu.be/QOxsqNGW3p4 MATHSOur young suncitizens explored two mathematical operations-'Addition' and "Subtraction" in the month of August. A fantastic concept elucidation activity enthralled the children where they collaborated with their peers and identified addition and subtraction key words. Moreover, they related those terms with their real life situations and framed their own addition and subtraction stories. This month witnessed wonderful innovators .Furthermore, the students recapitulated properties of addition and subtraction. They effortlessly added and subtracted 3 and 4 digit numbers with and without regrouping. Later,they brushed up their logical-mathematical skills by participating in the "Mental Math Competition" conducted during the month. They were introduced to word problems for the number operations and were guided how to solve a word problem using RUCSAC method. It was remarkable to see them working on 'Word Problems'. They themselves made their own word problems. SCIENCEThe month commenced with the understnading of birds and its various body parts. They explored different category of birds and the sounds they produce. They were enrthralled by the study of different types of beaks and related them to various tools used in our daily life. Our young ones also shared their experiences of sight seeing different birds and the activity they do. Furthermore, students brainstormed about the fact that how birds fly and they can't. To develop our young ones social skills , they did the activity of making Bird Feeders using the waste which even added to their care for birds. Students recapitulated their understanding about roots, stem, leaves, flowers, fruits and their functions. Learners were briefed about the concept of occupation according to the education, skills and sometimes need also and this was done with the help of a ppt. After the concept of occupation was introduced, learners were asked about the different type of occupation they’ve noticed in villages and cities. So, they were told about various types of farming people are involved in villages in detail with videos and pictures shown in the classroom. After that other type of occupations in cities like industry, factory and handicraft was briefed were learners told about their parent’s occupation in the class. Learners were asked Do you think what you like to do in your free time is also an occupation? So such thought provoking questions made learners think about the difference between and occupation and hobby which also raised a question about the concept of migration. There are people who visit us every day and help us in keeping our home clean, cars clean, parks clean, keep our society clean, water tap issue, etc. Who are they? Do you think these people are important to us? The topic of community helpers was introduced with the help of a video and a short interview taken by young learners of their house help, security guard. This also took their interest towards the cleaning staff of school and how they’re equally important for us. A new beginning for the suncitizens was through a nature walk of school and getting to know about the plants in their surroundings which they enjoyed thoroughly. After the walk they were asked about the importance and uses of trees in our lives with a virtual tour to Aravalli Biodiversity Park in Gurugram and how it’s called lungs of Gurugram. Since plants are so useful for us we’ve a plant that eats insects and pictures, video was shown related to insectivores plants. Month ended with an introduction to different landforms and how plants have adapted according to their climate, soil and the type of landforms this was done with the help of a video and pictures related to various landforms was show in the classroom. ICTThe students were asked to identify the various things in classroom that they could see, touch and feel and the things which they could see but not touch or feel. This led to the introduction of the concept of Hardware and software. Different types of hardware and softwares were also discussed alongwith their uses. Hands-on sessions were taken in the ICT Lab to make a list of Hardware and software in Wordpad with formatting of document. Physical EducationWarm Up exercises Badminton: Scissor kicks, Gripping (forehand & backhand) Basketball: Shooting, Rebound, Offensive and Defensive skills. Football: Heading & throwing, Defense, Offense skills Self-Defence: Neck grab, Hair grab, Punch Gymnastics: Front roll, Back roll, Jump and stand position. Cricket: Orthodox catches, Underarm throw and catch, Wicket keeping, Running between the wickets Visual artStudents were made aware of the importance of festivals through a composition drawing based on Independence Day, Janmashtmi and Ganesh Chaturthi. Feastivals are an integral part of the diversified culture of India. Students were encouraged to enhance their drawing skills by covering the whole sheet of paper with drawing the main elements of the composition. Students were introduced to shading and merging in two colours with oil pastels as a medium. They were also taught the usage of black colour as a main element to enhance the contour lines and the final presentation of art work. Indian danceDance has health benefits from increasing stamina, relieving stress, and body sculpting to name a few. But it's also great for mental and emotional health. Dance brings people together and provides them with a sense of community with people that have the same interests and passion.
